Let’s try typical Taiwanese food as European girl !!


Let me introduce you a traditional hot pot in Taiwan, the Ginger Duck.


This meal is so popular ! Taiwanese people won’t even talk to you about this dish because they can’t imagine your ignorance about this.


Ginger duck is consumed only during the winter to warm up and to purify all the body thanks to the property of ginger. The restaurants who serve this type of meal close from mi-april to august or mid-september. I had the chance to arrive at the right time to enjoy this delicious served during the winter meal at 麥之鄉薑母鴨. Some people come from far away to taste it in this restaurant which is located in Taichung, near Donghai Villa bus station. It’s really easy to go there.


It was sooooooo good !


The atmosphere of sharing and joy could be felt indoors as the wind was raging outside.


The soup is made with rice wine and sesame oil. It tastes really good.

Some people even decide to order an extra bottle of this rice wine to add it in the soup. It is common to have a lot of noises and faces reddened by heat and alcohol in this kind of restaurant.

Hot pot means that you just have to order and then share your meal with your friends or family. You put all the elements that you take into the soup. You can had duck bloof, pig blood cake, mushrooms, noodles and so many other things. You make it totally match your taste, which makes this dish very user-friendly, and adaptable to all tastes.


The only advice that I can give to you is TASTE IT !

Words can’t describe the taste and atmosphere that surround this hot pot.
